CABLE CONNECTOR STAVI EURO

CABLE CONNECTOR STAVI EURO

The CABLE CONNECTOR STAVI EURO is a European-pattern twist-lock welding cable connector, supplied as matched male and female halves in four cable ranges from 10-25mm² up to 70-95mm². A brass current-carrying core is enclosed in a moulded insulating sleeve, so the joint stays safe to handle while carrying up to 600A.

Key Features and Benefits of Cable Connector STAVI Euro

  • Twist-Lock Coupling: A quarter-turn locks the halves together and stops accidental separation.
  • Male and Female Halves: Each cable range is available in both halves so any run can be made up.
  • Rated to 600A: 600A at 35% duty cycle on the 70-95mm² size.
  • Fully Insulated Body: The moulded sleeve keeps the live core covered when connected and when parted.
  • Brass Core: Low-resistance brass keeps energy loss and heating at the joint to a minimum.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Euro-type welding cable connector?

A Euro connector — commonly called a Dinse connector — is the standardised quick-connect fitting between the welding cable and the machine. A male plug is crimped or soldered to the cable end; it twists into a matching panel socket on the welding machine and locks with a quarter turn. It replaced bolted terminals on modern machines because it can be connected and disconnected in seconds without tools.

What size Euro connector do I need — 35-50 or 50-70?

The numbers are the welding cable cross-sections in mm² that the connector accepts, not the amperage. A 35-50 connector suits 35 mm² and 50 mm² cable; a 50-70 suits 50 mm² and 70 mm². Choose by the cable you are fitting, then check the connector's current rating covers your machine output.

Are Euro connectors interchangeable between welding machine brands?

Largely yes — that is the point of the standard. A Dinse-pattern plug of the right size fits the corresponding socket on most modern inverter machines regardless of brand. The exceptions are older or proprietary machines with non-standard sockets, so check the socket before ordering a batch.

Can a Euro connector be reused on a new cable?

If the metal parts are clean, undamaged and not discoloured from heat, yes — cut back the old cable and remake the joint. If the barrel is distorted, pitted or heat-discoloured, replace it. The cost of a connector is negligible against the cost of finding the fault twice.
