Welding solutions for the commercial vehicle driveline

A truck earns nothing standing in the workshop, and a new assembly costs many times what it takes to rebuild the worn one. Most driveline parts — clutch faces, gear teeth, hubs, axle tubes, housings — can be brought back to size and put back on the road. Pick an assembly on the vehicle to see which components wear, how they fail, and the STANVAC range that repairs them.

Isometric view of a heavy-vehicle workshop — two rows of assemblies stripped down on stands under an overhead travelling crane: a clutch and transmission, a cutaway engine, a gear box and a propeller shaft along the back row; a differential, an axle and wheel, a brake assembly with its air compressor and a bare ladder chassis along the front. Tippers, a mixer and trailers stand in the yard outside.

How transport components fail
  1. Friction

Clutch faces, shifter shafts, hubs and bearing seats rubbed undersize in service.

  2. Impact

Gear teeth, release fingers and shifting forks chipped or broken by shock loading.

  3. Cracking

Cast-iron blocks, heads and housings split by vibration, overload or an accident.

  4. Heat & corrosion

Hubs, slack adjusters and axle tubes scaled or pitted by brake heat and road salt.

Send us the component.
We’ll send the procedure.

Base metal, wear factor and a photograph of the worn part — an application engineer comes back with the consumable, the preparation and the welding parameters.
