STAVITRODE A 87 (T)
DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS :
A tubular boron and complex carbide electrode. Complex carbide and boron held in a richly alloyed tough matrix give excellent resistance to severe abrasion.
It performs best in its class of tubular electrodes. Gases evolving from the coating shield the preformed carbides inside the tubular shape. Because it runs at very low current, heat input is extremely low, and the non-hygroscopic coating gives it an extraordinary shelf life. It resists abrasion strongly under high impact, and the deposit can be ground.
Applications: table and roller liners, buttoning, buckets, tooth points, grizzly bars, conveyors, mixer blades, screws and fan blades.
Note: use NA 75 for the cushion layer.
UNIQUE FEATURES :
- Keeps its wear resistance at high temperatures up to 500°C.
- Reaches more than 65 HRC on mild steel in a single deposit.
- Strikes and re-strikes easily, has a prolonged shelf life and needs no pre-drying.
- The 6 mm size suits out of position hardfacing in the down-hand, vertical up and vertical horizontal directions.
- Fast deposition, 3 times faster, which saves time.
- Higher recovery, more than 90%.
- Low amps, no moisture pickup, no red hotness and easy welding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is STAVITRODE A 87 (T) used for?
It is a tubular boron and complex carbide electrode for severe abrasion combined with high impact, typically on table and roller liners, buttoning, buckets, tooth points, grizzly bars, conveyors, mixer blades, screws and fan blades.
What hardness does STAVITRODE A 87 (T) reach, and what temperature can it withstand?
On mild steel it delivers 65 - 67 HRC on the 1st and 2nd layer, and it retains its wear resistance at temperatures up to 500°C.
Is pre-drying required for STAVITRODE A 87 (T)?
No. Thanks to the non-hygroscopic coating there is no pre-drying, no moisture pickup and a prolonged shelf life.
What sizes and current settings apply to STAVITRODE A 87 (T)?
Use 90 - 130 A for 6.30 mm x 450 mm and 120 - 160 A for 8.00 mm x 450 mm. NA 75 is the recommended cushion layer.
