STAVITRODE A 42
OVERVIEW & APPLICATIONS :
A high-strength, non-cracking, all-position electrode for cast iron that gives fully machinable welds. It works on every type of cast iron, including ductile, nodular and malleable grades, and is particularly well suited to repairing meehanite dies. In most cases the base metal needs no preheating. It makes cast iron welding as easy as MS welding.
KEY ADVANTAGES :
- Outstanding crack resistance. It welds without preheating on practically any Cl- Cl or CI-steel joint, so cast iron repairs are quick and trouble free.
- Exceptionally low heat input and low dilution keep the HAZ to a minimum. There is no cracking or overheating even on difficult AC amperage, and joints stay fully machinable even on the hardest CI.
- Exceptional tensile strength and joint fusion, giving strong, durable repairs on practically any type of cast iron.
- A forceful “controlled blast” arc drives through surface contaminants (oil, scale, oxides...) and burns them off before the weld metal transfers.
- The special slag composition can be welded over without causing porosity.
- Extra nickel content produces crack resistant, machinable welds.
- Positional welding capability makes it easy to use.
