• Well Suited to Dissimilar-Metal Welding 309L / 309LSi consumables are formulated to join stainless steel to carbon steel, mild steel and medium tensile steels. • Buffer Layers and Buttering These consumables are often applied as an intermediate layer (a buffer or buttering layer) ahead of 308-grade stainless steel deposits. • Dependable at Moderate Temperatures 309LSi is appropriate for clad steel welding when service temperatures stay below 300°C. Mechanical and metallurgical properties remain stable under moderate heat, so weld quality is consistent in a range of industrial settings.
