STAVITRODE A 49
DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS :
This high-performance, air hardening electrode has a basic coating and deposits a C-Cr-Mn-Ni alloy for welding and surfacing steels. It joins similar alloys well, suits the resurfacing of valve seats and turbine components for steam and gas, and is equally good for joining straight chromium stainless steels.
The main use is overlaying the sealing faces of gas, water and steam valves, giving stainless, wear-resistant surfaces. It also serves to reclaim and repair castings, cylinders, hollow shafts, piping and a range of rolls.
Preheat to 200°C to 250°C ahead of welding, and hold the interpass temperature at 280°C and 350°C so the microstructure forms properly. To improve ductility, a PWHT of 2 hours at 750°C is advised.
UNIQUE FEATURES :
- Air hardening deposit reaching 42 - 50 HRC.
- MMA electrode of high Cr stainless type.
- Current: AC or DC (+).
- Storage: keep it dry and prevent condensation. If needed, re-dry for 1 hour at 300 - 350°C, up to a maximum of 3 times.
