STAVITRODE A 26
DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS :
This non-magnetic, high manganese stainless steel electrode was developed especially for resurfacing rail points and crossings. Its weld metal does not crack and has a high capacity to deform. It stands up very well against cracking from rolling and sliding friction, abrasion and impact, and work hardens when struck.
Suitable for joining and repairing difficult to weld steels, manganese and armour steels, and steels with high sulphur and phosphorus contents, in railways and mining. It is also used for buffer layers ahead of cold hardfacing on manganese steels, and is best suited to resurfacing rail points and crossings and worn out rails.
UNIQUE FEATURES :
- The deposit is non-magnetic, resists cracking and can deform considerably.
- Crack resistance is excellent, and tensile strength is extra tough and high.
- It resists rolling and sliding friction, abrasion and impact very well.
- Armour steels can be joined to each other, and to mild steels, stainless steels and manganese steels.
