STAVITRODE A 29

STAVITRODE A 29

DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS :

An Inconel electrode bearing niobium that welds in every position, for joining nickels and for steels used at high temperature or in cryogenic service.

Position does not matter when welding inconel, nickel, monel, nickel-chromium-iron alloys and HK alloys, or dissimilar combinations such as carbon steels, stainless steels, nickel and nickel alloys joined to one another. Deposits resist scaling at high temperatures, and stay corrosion resistant both at normal and at elevated temperatures. Suitable for -196°C to +1050°C.

Welding technique: use minimum amperage so that heat input stays low.

UNIQUE FEATURES :

  • Out of position welding performance is excellent.
  • Physical properties are phenomenal.
  • At high temperature, scaling resistance is excellent.
  • Resistance to corrosion is excellent whether at normal or elevated temperatures.
  • It performs unusually well on AC current.
  • Welding positions: flat, vertical up, horizontal, overhead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is STAVITRODE A 29 used for?

It is an all position Inconel electrode for welding inconel, nickel, monel, nickel-chromium-iron alloys and HK alloys, and for dissimilar joints between carbon steels, stainless steels, nickel and nickel alloys.

What range of service temperatures does STAVITRODE A 29 cover?

The deposit suits service from -196°C up to +1050°C. It resists scaling at high temperature and resists corrosion at normal as well as elevated temperatures.

Does STAVITRODE A 29 work on AC, and in which positions can it be used?

Yes - it performs unusually well on AC current, and it welds in the flat, vertical up, horizontal and overhead positions.

What amperage should I set for STAVITRODE A 29?

Use 50 - 70 A for 2.50 mm, 70 - 100 A for 3.15 mm and 100 - 140 A for 4.00 mm. Weld at the lowest amperage that sustains the arc so that heat input stays low.
